Connect an agent
An agent reaches unbranch over MCP, the Model Context Protocol, signed in as you. It reads the same record your team reads and drafts into the same loop your team uses.
Server details
Section titled “Server details”| Address | https://api.unbranch.ai/mcp |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP (a remote server, not a command to run) |
| Sign-in | OAuth 2.1 with your unbranch account. Your browser opens, you sign in, and you confirm the connection. |
| Reach | Every project you can open |
You do not paste a key anywhere. The client finds unbranch’s sign-in, registers itself and opens it in your browser. You see which account the client will act as and which client is asking, then choose Continue, Use another account or Cancel. A client you have confirmed once goes straight through next time.
Review and disconnect connected clients under Account → Security → Connected apps in the portal.
Choose your setup
Section titled “Choose your setup”| Where you work | Guide |
|---|---|
| Claude.ai or Claude Desktop | Claude |
| A code repository with Claude Code | Claude Code with @unbranch/kit |
| Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI or another client | Other MCP clients |
The portal’s AI agents page (in the organization sidebar) has the same guides, with the address filled in for you.
What an agent can do
Section titled “What an agent can do”- Read the canonical model, proposals, commitments and the ledger.
- Talk an idea through with you, and write it up as a draft.
- Check its draft, and send it for review when you tell it to.
- Discard a draft it wrote.
- Write the next version of a proposal in review and leave it waiting for you.
What it never does
Section titled “What it never does”- Consent, accept, reject, deliver or verify anything.
- Open a project you cannot open.
- Check or send a draft without using the team’s monthly model credits. Writing a draft is free; the check, and the send that opens review, each use a credit.
Agents read, people decide explains why.
Try it
Section titled “Try it”Once connected, ask:
Where does my product stand in unbranch?
A good agent reads the overview first and answers only what you asked. Before it writes anything, it talks an idea through with you. It shows you the draft with its link, and sends it to the team only when you say so.
